The DeFi and Web3 protocol Marlin offers a high-performance, programmable network architecture. In a network marketplace called Marlin, various relay networks compete to send blocks for the same blockchain. When two devices are too far apart to communicate with each other directly, data is transported between them through a relay network.
By enhancing node communication, the Marlin open-source project intends to scale peer-to-peer systems. Peer-to-peer refers to the direct exchange of an asset between people without the involvement of a single governing body. The business wants to rethink the networking architecture that powers blockchains in order to make Web3 experiences quick, reliable, and secure.
The individuals who formed Marlin were Amol Agrawal, Josh Payne, Prateesh Goyal, Pratyaksh Sharma, Roshan Raghupathy, and Siddhartha Dutta. In 2018, Marlin was introduced. Ten billion POND coins are available overall.
Marlin offers decentralized systems a secure way to leverage high-performance relay networks without sacrificing decentralization. Marlin also provides better-performing decentralized cloud services, lower prices, quicker finality, and more throughput for blockchain platforms. In addition, Marlin network users (wallets, businesses, etc.) get the most recent blocks and transactions from the blockchain platforms they are interested in.
The POND and MPOND coins are part of the Marlin token economy. Marlin's indigenous symbol is "POND." A basic ERC20 token is POND. POND is used to assign tasks to Marlin nodes and pay them for successfully running the relay network. POND distributes the network's incentives for relayer work from the subsidy pool. If the relayer to whom POND is assigned does not follow the method, cutting penalties will apply. MPOND is the governing and staking token for Marlin. MPOND allows for the submission and approval of proposals.
