The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to lead our Finance function. This role is pivotal to Block Earner's success, providing critical oversight, strategic planning, and operational execution across all financial aspects of the business. You will be instrumental in building the financial infrastructure and controls necessary to support our aggressive growth trajectory. Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting

• Lead the preparation and presentation of accurate, timely, and insightful monthly financial reports and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Lead all general accounting functions and oversee the part-time bookkeeper who is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance and reporting (BAS, FBT, corporate tax).
• Manage the end-to-end financial audit process and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Develop and implement robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.

Strategic Planning and Analysis

• Develop, maintain, and manage the company's annual budget and rolling financial forecasts.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, key performance indicator (KPI) tracking and scenario planning, to support strategic decision-making.
• Provide financial modelling for new products, business initiatives, capital allocation, and fundraising activities.

Treasury and Risk Management

• Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow management, banking relationships, and crypto-asset reconciliation and reporting.
• Monitor and manage financial risks, including operational risk, liquidity risk, FX-risk and regulatory compliance within the crypto/Fintech landscape.

Capital Raises, M&A, and Investor Relations

• Lead financial due diligence and provide support for all debt and equity capital raising rounds.
• Maintain and manage the company's capitalisation table, ensuring accuracy and preparing necessary reports for stakeholders.
• Support investor relations activities, including the preparation of financial materials and addressing due diligence requests.

Leadership and Operations

• Act as the primary financial business partner to the CEO and leadership team.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Establish and lead the internal financial department, including the potential for future team growth and mentorship.

What You Bring

Essential Experience & Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles.
• Proven experience working within a Big Four accounting firm (KPMG, EY, PwC, or Deloitte) is highly regarded.
• CPA or CA qualification is mandatory.
• Expert-level proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis.

Desired Skills & Attributes

• Previous experience with managing a finance function, including reporting, budgeting, and financial controls, is highly desirable.
• A strong interest in the cryptocurrency, blockchain, or broader FinTech sector. Prior professional experience in these fields is a significant advantage.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proactive, self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
• Experience in setting up or scaling financial operations and systems.
