Software Developer (React & React Native)
About us Block Earner is a Sydney-based fintech building digital asset and financial products for Australian customers. We’re growing our engineering team and looking for an experienced developer to help build and scale our mobile and web applications.
About the role You’ll design, develop, test and maintain our customer-facing iOS and Android apps (React Native) and web applications (React). You’ll turn product requirements into secure, reliable and high-performing software, working closely with product, design and backend engineers across the full development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Design, write and maintain code for mobile apps in React Native and web apps in React, using TypeScript
- Turn product and technical specifications into working features, and build reusable components across web and mobile
- Write clean, efficient code that follows team coding standards
- Integrate REST APIs, third-party libraries and backend services
- Contribute to secure, scalable application architecture, including state management and data handling
- Work with native iOS and Android modules and mobile build tooling where required
- Write and maintain automated unit, integration and end-to-end tests
- Find, analyse and fix defects, and optimise apps for speed and stability on mobile and in the browser
- Take part in code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge
- Prepare and support App Store, Google Play and web releases, including CI/CD pipelines
- Work with product, design and backend teams to analyse requirements, estimate work and plan releases
- Create and maintain technical documentation
About you
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, IT or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience, including commercial React Native apps released to the App Store and Google Play, and production React web applications
- Strong skills in TypeScript, React, React Native, HTML and CSS
- Experience with state management and data-fetching libraries (e.g. React Query, Redux or Zustand) and REST API integration
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and web and mobile testing tools
- Good written and verbal communication skills, and a collaborative approach

- Experience with Expo
- Experience with Next.js or Vite
- Experience with application monitoring tools
- Experience in fintech, payments or digital assets
- Knowledge of web and mobile security best practices
