Block Earner Achieves SOC 2 Type 1 Attestation, Strengthening Trust in Crypto-Backed Lending

15 Jun 2026
Block Earner has achieved SOC 2 Type 1 attestation, an independent, US-recognised security standard, adding to the ISO/IEC 27001 certification it secured in May. Together, these milestones give customers and partners independent assurance that Australia's home of crypto-backed loans is built on enterprise-grade security and compliance.
For anyone borrowing against their crypto, the question underneath every other question is simple: is this platform protected? This attestation is part of our answer.

What is SOC 2 Type 1?

SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a widely recognised attestation standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). It evaluates how a company manages data based on Trust Services Criteria, including security, availability and confidentiality.
A SOC 2 Type 1 attestation confirms that an organisation's security controls are appropriately designed at a specific point in time. It is, in effect, the US-market counterpart to ISO/IEC 27001, the leading international information-security standard. Block Earner's SOC 2 Type 1 attestation was independently issued by Sensiba, covering security, availability and confidentiality for our software-as-a-service system.
We're not stopping there. SOC 2 Type 2, which tests those controls in operation over an extended period, is the next step on our roadmap.

Why this matters for crypto-backed loans in Australia

When you take out a crypto-backed loan, you hand a platform custody of digital assets. That makes the platform's security posture central, not peripheral, to the product.
Block Earner is the home of crypto-backed loans in Australia, letting individuals and businesses borrow Australian dollars against their cryptocurrency, without selling it. Independent attestation means you don't have to take our word for our security; a qualified third party has examined it.

A complete trust stack: how Block Earner is built for security

Crypto-backed lending shouldn't mean compromising on safety or compliance. Block Earner has assembled a trust stack that few platforms in the Australian digital-asset space can match:
SOC 2 Type 1 — independent US-recognised attestation of our security controls (security, availability and confidentiality).
ISO/IEC 27001 certification — the leading global standard for information security management, achieved last quarter.
Australian Credit Licence (ACL) — Block Earner is the first crypto company in Australia to secure an ACL, the same regulatory foundation that underpins mainstream consumer lenders.
AUSTRAC registration — registered as a Digital Currency Exchange and Independent Remittance Provider, meeting Australia's anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing obligations.
Sumsub — an all-in-one suite for Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Business (KYB), and Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
Award-winning crypto loans — Winner of Excellence in Consumer Lending at the 2026 Finnies, FinTech Australia's national awards, alongside back-to-back wins in 2024 and 2025 for Excellence in Distributed Ledger, Blockchain and Crypto.

Building towards global standards

Achieving SOC 2 Type 1 is a key milestone for Block Earner as an industry leading crypto lender in Australia. US partners and enterprise customers increasingly treat SOC 2 as essential, not optional, and pairing it with ISO/IEC 27001 positions Block Earner to meet the expectations of international markets while continuing to serve Australian borrowers.
It also reflects how the company operates day to day. Going through a rigorous attestation process surfaces opportunities to do things better, and then actually do them, which ultimately benefits every customer who trusts us with their assets.
