What is Meteora (MET)?

The History of Meteora

Meteora launched in 2023 as a Solana-native liquidity protocol building on the team's earlier work with Mercurial Finance. The project has rolled out a series of liquidity infrastructure products including Dynamic Liquidity Market Maker (DLMM) pools, Dynamic Vaults, and Dynamic AMM. The MET token launched via airdrop on 23 October 2025, distributed to liquidity providers, early users, and the Solana DeFi community.

The primary use case for MET is to govern Meteora and direct the protocol's liquidity incentives. Holders vote on emissions, new pool types, partnerships, and treasury management.
