Sahara AI (SAHARA) is the native token of Sahara AI, a decentralised AI blockchain platform built to support open and collaborative AI development. SAHARA is used to access AI services, pay for compute and inference, and participate in governance of the Sahara network.

The History of Sahara AI

Sahara AI is developed by Sahara Labs, an AI research and development organisation that has worked with companies including Microsoft and Amazon, and academic institutions such as MIT. The project is backed by investors including Polychain, Sequoia Capital, and YZi Labs. The SAHARA token launched in June 2025 on Ethereum and BNB Chain, with a total supply of 10 billion and over 64 percent allocated to community and ecosystem incentives.

The Use Case of Sahara AI

The primary use case for SAHARA is to power the Sahara AI ecosystem, which spans a Data Services Platform for AI training data, an AI Developer Platform for model creation, and a decentralised AI Marketplace for trading datasets, models, and agents. Users pay for AI inference, dataset access, and compute resources using SAHARA.

SAHARA also supports governance and staking. Holders can vote on protocol decisions through Sahara's DAO structure and stake the token to help secure the network. The project's broader goal is to give individual contributors—researchers, developers, and data providers—a fair share in the AI economy through on-chain attribution and rewards.
